You will have the opportunity to empower hundreds and perhaps thousands of citizen first responders, some of whom will someday, save the life of a Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) victim. Participants from kindergarten to senior citizens in schools, businesses, and special events will gain skills they will carry with them for the rest of their lives. Through this class, participants will develop not only life-saving skills, but proficiency in leadership, confidence, commitment and teamwork. At almost every training, you will encounter someone who has had some experience with a family member or friend who has been a victim of SCA. Sudden Cardiac Arrest is the leading cause of death in America, and we lose 1,000 Americans every day to SCA. It is the mission of Starting Hearts to provide this essential training to as many people as possible to save lives of SCA victims. This CALL.PUSH.SHOCK™ class is designed to take about 90 minutes and includes video instruction combined with hands-on practice with manikins to properly deliver Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), and use of a defibrillator (DEFIB) with a training model. Your discussion topics and animated delivery are also a vital element of this course, and prompts and important points are listed in each section of the teaching guide. It is important to become familiar with this guide, and to follow it to provide the most effective and timely course. Thank you for helping to save more lives!
